Hello everyone!
I Know I told you about the little baby with tetanus I have grown attached too, he is 16 days and and his name is Mukundo. He has 16 year old sister names Kerra who is normally by his side because her mom is also in the hospital very sick.
Monday at clinical was a very productive, yet rough day. Sarahlyn delivered two babies, but one was a still born. Two of our students helped to reset a 6 year old boy’s compound femur fracture without pain medicine. One of our patients I mentioned in my last blog, the two year old with burns, passed away Saturday.
While were standing out by our land cruisers ready to drive home, woman was grieving outside the hospital. It was a pretty rough situation to see, the woman was falling on the ground crying and screaming.
We also had a talk and tour of the Malaria research project going on at Macha, it was very interesting. We were able to look at blood slides with malaria and ones without malaria. We will be having more lectures by the research doctor there when we are living in Macha next week, beginning Sunday afternoon.
BethanyMukundo is 1.5 kg and 16 days old.
